  • Samsung's Secure Folder teases Galaxy S8 design
  • Galaxy S8 widely expected to ditch the home button

We are almost a month away from Samsung's rumoured March 29 event that is widely expected to see the launch of the new Galaxy S8 series. There have been reports pointing out that the Galaxy S8 may be more costly than the current Galaxy S7, and a latest leak reiterates earlier claims. Separately, a new Samsung app has surfaced which may drop hints about the Galaxy S8 design.

A Chinese tipster has claimed that Samsung's Galaxy S8 may start at CNY 6,088 (roughly Rs. 60,000). Though, it's being said that the price will be valid for China market only. An earlier report citing financial firm Goldman Sachs claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will see a rise in prices by up to 15 to 20 percent compared to its predecessor. The price rise is said to be due to rise in cost of raw materials and this will eventually trickle down to consumers.

Additionally, Samsung's Galaxy S8 design may have been teased by a new unreleased app. Sammobile reports that Secure Folder is available via APK Mirror, and features a smartphone render that may point to the design of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

When the app is launched, the instructions show a render that is believed to show the near bezel-less display. The renders show a smartphone with no home button corroborating earlier leaks that indicate Samsung may finally ditch the signature Home Button below the display.

Recently, Samsung's Mobile Chief Koh Dong-jin reportedly confirmed that the company would reveal the official launch date for the Galaxy S8 launch at MWC 2017 next week.

Thanks to a flurry of leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy S8+. The new Galaxy S8 series is said to come with new virtual assistant Bixby. Samsung Galaxy S8 is pegged to have a dual-edged curved display with almost negligible bezel and come with two screen size variants - 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch. On design front, Samsung is expected to ditch the Home Button, and have an all-display front. The smartphone is expected to feature an iris scanner. Some of the highlights of the innards are expected to be the Snapdragon 835 chipset and up to 6GB of RAM.
