The users explaining the issue on the Sony Mobile Talk Forum have shared, "One moment, the smartphone is working fine and it is suddenly dead." After which the users are unable to switch the smartphone on.

Some users have reported that doing a hard reset for the Sony Xperia Z by pressing the power button along with volume up have helped them but not all seem to have benefited from this solution. From the customer response on various forum, it looks like there seems to be no fixed pattern that could be causing this sudden death.

There is no hint with regards to when the company will be rolling out this update. This statement might leave the existing customers experiencing the issue a little irate, given that the company is promising them no interim relief. Also customers planning on getting this smartphones may become a little wary and may start looking for other alternatives in the market.
