Sony Xperia Z users complain of phone dying suddenly

Sony had recently launched its flagship smartphone Xperia Z. As per news reports by XperiaBlog some early users of Xperia Z have complained that their new prized possession is dying suddenly. The users explaining the issue on the Sony Mobile Talk Forum have shared, "One moment, the smartphone is working fine and it is suddenly dead." After which the users are unable to switch the smartphone on.

Some users have reported that doing a hard reset for the Sony Xperia Z by pressing the power button along with volume up have helped them but not all seem to have benefited from this solution. From the customer response on various forum, it looks like there seems to be no fixed pattern that could be causing this sudden death.

The XperiaBlog also mentions that Sony is aware of the issue and Sony Mobile says that it has shared that a "fix for this will be implemented in next software update". There is no hint with regards to when the company will be rolling out this update. This statement might leave the existing customers experiencing the issue a little irate, given that the company is promising them no interim relief. Also customers planning on getting this smartphones may become a little wary and may start looking for other alternatives in the market.

Sony had showcased their Xperia Z smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013. It features a 5-inch full-HD display (1920X1080). The smartphone runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Internally, it packs in a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. For camera, there is a 13-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera.

The Xperia Z is IP55 and IP57 certified, making it water and dust resistant, features a full glass exterior, is 7.9mm thin weighing 149 grams and has a 2,330mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC.

This smartphone has recently been announced in India for Rs. 38,990.
