Updated HTC Sync Manager to support restore from iPhone backups
Looks like HTC is all set to welcome converts from the Apple world with arms wide open. With the launch of its new flagship, the HTC One, the company has informed that it will be launching an updated version of its HTC Sync Manager desktop application which will be able to extract data from iPhone file backups including photos, videos, calendar entries and text messages, according to a CNET report.

While calendar, contacts and media can be easily transferred through online services, transferring text messages is a tough task.

Following the move, users migrating to HTC phones from the iPhone would be able to sync all their data with their new devices. It would also benefit consumers who choose HTC devices as their secondary phones.

At the moment, HTC Sync Manager supports Macs as well as Windows computers, and allows users to sync contacts, calendar events, bookmarks, and documents to and from their computer with their HTC phones. It also lets users organize their photos and personal videos into albums and edit images, import iTunes or Windows Media Player music libraries and playlists, rip audio CDs and transfer music to their phones and play multimedia files.

HTC had announced the HTC One, last week. The phone comes with a 4.7-inch full-HD display with 468 pixels per inch packed in an aluminium unibody. It is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor alongside 2GB of RAM. HTC One will come in Grey, Black and Red colours with 32GB and 64GB storage options, but without expandable storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, Infrared and Micro-USB. The HTC One runs a completely overhauled Sense UI atop Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
