Xiaomi Mi 6 to Launch This Month, Confirms CEO

Xiaomi Mi 6 flagship device has been leaked on several occasions, and its launch date has been fluctuating alongside. Now, the Chinese conglomerate’s CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be launched this month itself.

MyDrivers has posted this confirmation from Jun during a live video, and it seals Xiaomi Mi 6’s arrival this month, reiterating previous rumours. The Xiaomi Mi 6 will reportedly launch on April 11 or April 18, however no invites from the company’s end have been rolled out yet.

Previous leaks suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will allegedly be launched in 4GB of RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB + 64GB, and 6GB + 128GB variants priced at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 19,000), CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 21,800) and CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs. 25,600), respectively. There will also be a bigger Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus, tipped to be offered in 4GB of RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB, which will reportedly be priced at CNY 2,599 (roughly Rs. 24,700), CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 28,500) and CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 33,200), respectively.

According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to come in three variants, and the premium variant is expected to sport a dual curved display as well. The flagship was earlier tipped to initially launch with a Snapdragon 821 SoC, and it was said the launch of the most premium Xiaomi Mi 6 with the Snapdragon 835 SoC could be delayed till May this year.

As for specifications, the most premium variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6 has been tipped to sport a Quad HD 2K OLED display with dual curved edges, 6GB of RAM, 256GB of inbuilt storage, and dual rear camera setup. The most basic variant was tipped to sport 4GB of RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage. Previous leaks also suggest that the handset will house a 4000mAh battery.
