Google Glass has managed to remain in news ever since it has been demoed. Though in the past year, we have seen quite a handful teardowns of this connected device but none as detailed as done by Star Simpson and Scott Torborg.

The teardown at Catwig.com reveals almost all the tiny components that are used to make Google Glass. Simpson and Torborg have commented that tearing down Google Glass was a pretty simple affair and, in what can sometimes we a tricky affair, they also managed to put back the components together.

To get to know what is inside Google Glass one has to unscrew just a single Torx T5 screw. The teardown reveals that the side panel houses the custom touchpad manufactured by Synaptics. The Glass is powered by a dual-core TI OMAP4430 chip.

Google Glass comes with a 16GB internal storage space courtesy SanDisk. Google has already disclosed that out of this 16GB only 12GB will be usable and will be synced with Google cloud storage.

Another interesting bit of information that has been revealed through this teardown is the battery powering Goggle Glass. This pair of Internet-connected glasses comes with non-replaceable 570mAh (2.1 Wh) single-cell lithium polymer battery. In a bid to keep the weight of the device evenly distributed, the battery has been placed right behind wearer's ear.

Furthermore, the display of the Google Glass has a resolution of 640x360 pixels. The glasses also pack in Elpida mobile DRAM chip.

On its part, Google had announced the specifications of its Internet connected glasses in April. Google Glass comes with a 5-megapixel camera, which is capable of recording 720p and Bone Conduction Transducer for audio. Glass will be compatible with any Bluetooth-capable phone, however, for using GPS and SMS it requires the MyGlass companion app which is only available for smartphones running Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher.

Though no specific date has been disclosed for the launch of this device, Google's Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt had indicated that Glass will start retailing by 2014. The pricing of the Google has not been disclosed as yet.
