Google+ now allows users to pin posts on the top of their profile and pages using the Web interface or via the Android app. The company has noted that the iOS support is 'coming soon.'

The Mountain View giant announced that starting Thursday Google+ profile users will see a dropdown option in a public post to pin it on the top of their profile or page, so that visitors could see the pinned content first.

"People often have posts that they want to make sure get seen when someone visits their profile, like a great nature shot from a recent family trip. Businesses also have content they want to highlight such as photos of a new product or a trailer for an upcoming movie," noted Google+ announcement post on Thursday.

Last month, the company had added a new 'Mentions' tab to its Google+ Web interface that shows users all posts in which they have been tagged. Earlier, users only had the option to check through notifications manually.

The added the Mentions tab next to the More tab in the top bar of the Google+ on Web, displays all the posts in which the user was ever 'mentioned' or tagged.

To remind new users, since September this year, Google no longer forces new Google account users to create a Google+ profile page, which was a mandatory step since January 2012.

Now while creating a new Google account users could skip to 'Create your public Google+ profile' by clicking 'No Thanks' button on the page.
