After the automated enhancements for photos, Google+ can now 'Auto Enhance' videos too.

"We're all taking more videos than ever before, thanks to our mobile devices, but some of them turn out less than stellar (yes, it happens to us all). But starting today, you can make your videos look and sound better with Google+," noted Google+ post by Google+ Photos software engineer, Tim St. Clair, on Friday.

The company says with the Auto Enhance feature, users will be able to enhance the lighting, colour, and stability of the video, while speech stabilisation is 'coming soon'.

With the Auto Enhance feature turned on, Google+ will automatically suggest enhancements for a video by analysing itspicture and audio quality. Desktop/ Web users will see a banner asking whether they would like to preview enhancements, which will be previewed in an instant side-by-side comparison (see below).

For manual Auto Enhancement of a video on Mac, Windows, Linux and Chrome OS, users can simply open a video, and then choose More > Auto Enhance. On Android, users can open a video from the Google+ Photos app, and then tap the overflow menu > Auto Enhance. For now, the feature is not available on the Google+ app for iOS, however, should be rolled out soon.

Earlier this month, Google+ added the 'pin post' feature to highlight posts for visitors by keeping in top of the profile and pages. Google+ users can use the feature from a dropdown option in a publicly posted post.

Facebook took a leaf out of Google's book last week, unveiling its own auto enhance feature for images uploaded by mobile, initially only for iOS. The social networking giant did not announce the feature officially, however, several publications spotted the feature as having rolled out to them already.
