Highlights
  • Airtel has increased the prices of the Rs. 99 pack
  • It now costs Rs. 119, and offers 2GB data for 28 days
  • 2GB data is offered only to a few users, while others get 1GB data

Airtel's new Rs. 119 pack has been launched in a segmented format

Earlier in June this year, Airtel revised its Rs. 99 recharge to offer 2GB of data across 28 days of validity. Now, the company has reportedly increased the pricing of this pack to Rs. 119 for its prepaid users. This Rs. 119 pack is said to have been launched in a segmented manner, which means that some users get the 2GB benefit for 28 days, while some get 1GB data benefits for 14 days. Airtel hasn't delisted the Rs. 99 pack, but that plan has been revised to offer 1GB of data only with a validity of 10 days. Earlier, it used to offer 2GB data for a validity of 28 days in a segmented format, similar to what the Rs. 119 pack now offers.

Coming back to the revised plan, the Rs. 119 prepaid recharge reportedly offers different benefits to users in all 22 telecom circles. It is said that select users may get 2GB of data, unlimited voice calls, 300 SMS messages for a validity of 28 days. Other users are said to see benefits like 1GB data, unlimited voice calls, and 300 SMSes for a validity of 14 days. These voice calls come with no FUP, and Telecom Talk reports reports that the 2GB data benefit is offered to very few users, while most users can see the 1GB data benefit for 14 days only. Users can check if they are eligible for the 2GB data for 28 days validity on their My Airtel app.

The Rs. 99 recharge does not offer segmented benefits any more. Instead, it now offers 1GB data, unlimited voice calling, and 300 SMS messages for 10 days validity to all users in an open market manner. The report also states that Airtel has removed the Rs. 129 recharge from its portfolio. The pack was launched earlier this year, and it offered unlimited voice calls, 1GB of 4G data, and 100 SMS messages per day for a validity of 28 days.

Airtel's new Rs. 119 pack rivals Jio's Rs. 98 recharge that comes with unlimited voice calls, 2GB of 4G data, and 100 SMS messages per day. The validity of the plan is 28 days.
