Google Calendar on Android has got a new feature that will allow users to see when they are free in the day to schedule other meetings and events.

The new 'When you're free' feature comes with the new Google Calendar v5.5.7 update for Android users only. It is a gradual rollout, so it may take some days before it finds you. With this new feature, the app will help users with busy schedules find a free slot. It eliminates the need for the user to comb through the events for the day and figure out when they are free.

This update was first rolled out for Google Calendar Work and Education app users in April, and it was called 'Find a time'. The feature for the Work and Education app also allowed users to add their colleagues as guests to be able to see when they are free for a meeting, and set up one when there is no conflict. However, Google Calendar for regular users will only show free time slots for users, and no-one else, but show conflicts when another event is already set up for the same time.

Google recently also brought Smart Suggestions and Reminder feature to Google Calendar as well. It also introduced 54 new country-based holiday calendars for Android and iOS users both. For iOS users, Google Calendar recently introduced Google Drive integration and interactive notifications as well.

In April, Google Calendar announced the new Goals feature that aims to help users find the right time to do what they love. It locates the empty slots, and then fits them with your desired activity. It can be activated in the Settings Menu, after which the Calendar app will ask a couple of questions to set the best time for the desired 'goal'. The feature even automatically reschedules the activity should something at work come up or you decide to postpone it in lieu of doing something else. The updated Google Calendar for Android app is rolling out globally through Google Play.
