It's a known fact by now that many a developer has had issues in interpreting Google Play policies. And while the company has stressed on inclusivity above all else, its actions dictate otherwise.

Recently Google announced a rating system for Google Play in an attempt to "create better user experiences". One of the side-effects of this system is that games like Postal - a top-down gore-filled shooter, has been rejected from Google Play. It's an odd turn of events given that games like Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Game of Thrones, and countless others are still present on Google Play. Most of these games depict violence in a fashion that's a lot more graphic than Postal does.

"Unfortunately it appears POSTAL has been rejected from Google Play due to it containing "GRATUITOUS VIOLENCE". Sadly this means it won't be welcomed alongside the Grand Theft Auto series, Carmageddon and horde of Zombie games on Google Play," a post on the forums of developer, Running With Scissors, reads.

Fans of this old school series should not fear. Running With Scissors allayed concerns saying that the game will be made available through other channels.

"There are other outlets though so fear not POSTAL fans. While this is disappointing for us, it won't stop you from being able to play POSTAL on your favourite Android device. We are looking into Humble Store, Amazon and other Android App stores. We will let you know when the time comes where you can pick up your Android copy of POSTAL."
