Snapseed, the photo-editing app by Google, has been updated to version 2.0 with revamped design and list of new editing tools.

The updated Snapseed app for Android and iOS started rolling out to users on Thursday. While Snapseed for iOS v2.0 is available to download on the App Store, Google Play India hasn't yet got the updated Android app. Like most other Google app updates in India, we expect the updated Snapseed 2.0 app for Android to roll out over the weekend.

"The new Snapseed app gives you the precision and control of professional photo editing software on your phone or tablet. We've updated the app in many ways while staying true to our mission of helping everyone easily create extraordinary images," noted Google+ post on Thursday.

Upfront, the revamped Snapseed app has got a new logo and new interface. Google has put in some new tools such as Lens Blur, Tonal Contrast, Glamour Glow, intelligent perspective Transform, and Spot Healing.

The Lens Blur feature in Snapseed v2.0 is adjustable in all directions. With Stacks, which company calls non-destructive editing tool, users can re-edit or undo any change, as well as copy edits from one image to another.

With the Brush tool, users can selectively apply filters and effects to discrete parts of the image. Spot Healing helps detailed image editing, healing, and retouching. The new Transform tool adjusts perspective across vertical and horizontal axes, then fills in empty areas after rotations.

The Snapseed app works with all images, whether shot from a phone camera or any point and shoot, DSLR camera.
