Canon Adds 5 New PowerShot Cameras to Its Roster at CES 2016

Canon has announced a couple of new super-zoom and compact cameras to its PowerShot lineup.

Its super-zoom series includes the PowerShot SX540 HS and PowerShot 420 IS. The former features a 50x optical zoom, new 20.3-megapixel sensor, DIGIC 6 image processor, full-HD video recording, built-in Wi-Fi, and NFC. The camera has a 3-inch LCD display and will go on sale in March for $399.99 (approximately Rs. 27,000). The PowerShot 420 IS super-zoom on the other hand features a 42x optical zoom, OIS, 20-megapixel sensor, DIGIC 4 image processor, and will be priced at $299.99 (approximately Rs. 20,000).
Coming to the compact cameras, Canon has introduced the PowerShot ELPH 360 HS, PowerShot ELPH 190 IS and the PowerShot ELPH 180. All the cameras feature a 20-megapixel sensors with varying degrees of zoom levels (12x, 10x and 8x respectively), have built-in Wi-Fi and NFC, can record video up to 720p resolution, and pack in 3-inch LCD displays. The cameras are available in multiple colour options and will be available in February at a starting price of $119.99 (approximately Rs. 8,000).
Apart from the new point-and-shoot and super-zooms, Canon also added three new camcorders to its lineup. The top-of-the-line Vixia HF G40 is designed for amateur film makers featuring a wide-angle 20x optical zoom, HD CMOS Pro image sensor, and a 3.5-inch Oled touch screen. The camcorder is capable of doing 1080p video at 60fps and is equipped with Linear PCM audio recording. It will be in stores this February at a price of $1,300 (approximately Rs. 87,000). The other Vixia HF-R series camcorders have been updated for 2016 and feature improved battery life.
