Now, after the Luna-25 crash, the head of Russia's space agency Roskosmos has said that the race to explore and develop the moon's resources has begun and Russia must remain a player despite the failure.

"This is not just about the prestige of the country and the achievement of some geopolitical goals. This is about ensuring defensive capabilities and achieving technological sovereignty," he said in his first public comments after the aborted mission.

Chandrayaan-3 LM Established Connection With Chandrayaan-2 Orbiter on Monday

On Monday, the Chandrayaan-3's Lander Module said hello to ISRO's Moon mission that came before. ISRO has announced that if any factor regarding the lander module appears unfavourable, the Chandrayaan-3 landing plans may be pushed to August 27.
