About Yadvi – The Dignified Princess Movie (2017)

Yadvi: The Dignified Princess is an awarded Indian English film set in th 1940s based on the life of a real-life princess from Punjab. The storyline begins with Maharani Yadhuvansh Kumari (Jyoti Singh), the princess of Patiala losing all her wealth and privileges, post Indian Independence. The rest of the story revolves around her struggles, determination, fighting back spirit, and the odds that the patriarchal society of that time posed against women. Maharani Yadhuvansh Kumari is shown holding onto her dignity and raising her daughters alone despite all the challenges. The film also has Miss India Worldwide (2009) Nikkitasha Marwaha in a cameo role.
