In addition to announcing a March 18 release date for Uncharted 4, Sony wowed us with a fantastic multiplayer reveal of the game at its Paris Games Week conference. Developer Naughty Dog has let slip more information on what to expect from the multiplayer component of Uncharted 4.

1.There will be no dedicated servers
To the chagrin of many a multiplayer fan, Uncharted 4's multiplayer will not have dedicated servers, which could result in lag. Speaking to VG247, lead multiplayer designer Robert Coburn said, "We'll still have a host, it's still peer-to-peer."

No explanation was given as to how it would work in the event that the player hosting the game abruptly leaves, either intentionally or due to network issues.

2. The beta will only have one game mode
Taking place from December 4 to December 13 for those who have bought Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and have a PlayStation Plus account, only Team Deathmatch will be playable. It will allow for a maximum of 10 players with five on either team.

3. It will run at 60fps and 900p
Pixel counters in the crowd might take offence to this but in order to hit the magical 60fps mark in multiplayer which allows for smoother gameplay, Uncharted 4's multiplayer will sport a resolution of 900p (1600x900). The single-player campaign will run at 30fps with a resolution of 1080p (1920x1080).

4. Sidekicks, mystical abilities, and grappling hooks
Technical concerns aside, you'll have AI-controlled characters known as Sidekicks to help you out in battle. They come with unique abilities. In addition to this there are supernatural, mystical abilities which seem to serve as power-ups in the game. And finally, taking a leaf out of Batman and Assassin's Creed Syndicate you have a grappling hook to help you navigate and take down your opponents.
