The Xiaomi 17’s design is made out of glass and aluminium. It feels premium and is also quite durable with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. It looks similar to other flagships at this price point, but packs interesting hardware.
Its top-of-the-line processor offers more than enough power for everyday tasks. Xiaomi’s HyperOS is well optimised to take advantage of it and the phone also packs a vapour chamber cooling system to help it maintain performance while playing demanding games.
Camera performance is as good as it gets in this segment. Xiaomi’s Leica collaboration also plays an important part here. The phone’s video recording capabilities are very impressive and it can also capture 8K footage as well.

Oppo’s Find X9s has a premium IP69-rated design that uses a mix of aluminium and glass. The phone isn’t exactly compact in terms of dimensions but at the same time, it’s not a large device either.
Performance is good enough for gaming and daily multitasking, but comes up a bit short of the competition. The phone does get hot when using the camera app and the heat does affect its imaging performance.
All of the cameras perform well in daylight. The telephoto camera shoots sharp images in both daylight and low-light conditions. The ultrawide camera can also capture macro photos.
Battery life can easily last two days with casual use. But heavy usage will require the phone to be plugged in by the end of the day. Wired charging speeds are fast, but the phone lacks wireless charging capability.
| OPPO Find X9s Specifications | |
| Display | 6.59-inch, 1,256x2,760 pixels |

The OnePlus Nord CE 6 feels like a phone that understands restraint. It focuses on delivering a dependable, polished smartphone experience rather than trying to dominate every metric on the spec sheet. The display is fantastic, and battery life is among the best in the segment. However, it is not without its caveats. The OnePlus Nord CE 6, however, successfully manages to compensate with balance.

Samsung Galaxy A57 was recently launched in India. The smartphone retails at the higher end within the Galaxy A series. It ships with Samsung’s Exynos 1680 chipset, offering decent performance, paired with the same 5,000mAh batteries and 45W wired fast charging support as last year. This might not come as a surprise, but the company has also kept the triple rear camera systems of the phones unchanged, a strategy that has seemingly worked well with the flagship Galaxy S series models.
| Samsung Galaxy A57 5G Specifications | |
| Display | 6.70-inch, 2340x1080 pixels |

The Poco X8 Pro Max is the first Max smartphone from the brand, offering a perfect blend of premium design and powerful performance. The smartphone offers a bright display that offers vibrant colours and crisp text. The device also delivers top-notch performance, all thanks to the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500s processor. You can play all the mobile games on this device without worrying about performance. The battery life is another strong suit of the device, and you can easily get more than 2 days with normal to modest usage. That said, the cameras aren't that great for the price, and the bloatware problem is still there. That said, if you are looking for a power-packed smartphone and can live with the camera performance, then the Poco X8 Pro Max is sure to be one of the best smartphones on the market.
| Poco X8 Pro Max 5G Specifications | |
| Display | 6.83-inch |
| Processor | MediaTek Dimensity 9500s |
| RAM | 12GB |
| Storage | 256GB |

The Motorola Edge 70 Fusion has a brand-new design which sticks to polycarbonate for its frame and rear panel. There are three finishes to choose from and all of them are IP68 and IP69-rated for dust and water resistance. Motorola even throws in a MIL-STD 810H certification for use in extreme environments.
Its display has been upgraded to a quad-curved panel. The AMOLED panel gets sufficiently bright outdoors and displays natural colours. However, we found the HDR10+ support lacking or missing when using third-party apps.
Performance isn’t best in class, but is good enough for casual users. It is also possible to play 3D games provided you don’t max out the graphics settings. Camera performance of the primary camera is quite good but the ultrawide isn’t the best even though it has macro capability.
Battery life is quite good and can easily last two days on a single charge. Charging speeds are equally good and can top up the high-capacity battery within an hour.
| Motorola Edge 70 Fusion Specifications | |
| Display | 6.80-inch, 2772x1272 pixels |
| Processor | Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 |

The Nothing Phone 4a Pro has a slim and stylish metal unibody design that’s also durable with an IP65 rating resisting dust and water. The phone has a unique-looking contoured camera module which now comes with a Glyph Matrix sourced from its flagship.
Performance isn’t a problem for casual users, gaming also isn't an issue, but those into heavy and demanding 3D games will have to settle for medium graphics. Nothing OS 4.1 runs smoothly and comes with some new tricks including a convenient way to download vibe-coded Essential apps.
Camera performance is quite impressive both in daylight and low-light settings. Particularly good is the new telephoto shooter that now offers up to 7X lossless zoom. Battery life is good as well and easily lasts a whole day with heavy usage.

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra gets a refreshed design but maintains its IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone now has an aluminium frame and thanks to its slightly slimmer design, is now lighter. The S Pen is still available but lacks Bluetooth functionality and related features.
While its display remains familiar in size and quality, it now gets a new privacy feature that once activated will only let the user see what’s being displayed on the screen. Processing power remains the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s strong points. It does warm up under load but never gets abnormally hot.
Camera performance is a bit of a mixed bag. Out of the four rear-facing cameras, the 3X telephoto camera is the weakest with average performance, which is not expected from a flagship device. Low light performance in general is also quite average. Video recordings on the other hand look very impressive.
The phone’s battery capacity remains unchanged, but is now paired with a power efficient processor and so is able to deliver slightly better battery life. Wired charging speeds have increased but not as much as on competing devices.
| Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Specifications | |
| Display | 6.90-inch, 1,440x3,120 pixels |

The Vivo V70 is the latest compact smartphone in the V70 series, offering a perfect blend of compact design and camera-centric features. The smartphone features a premium design and a bright display that delivers vibrant colours and crisp text. The device also performs well, though it features last year’s MediaTek chipset. The cameras are the major selling point of the device, and do a good job in most lighting conditions. The battery life is good for the compact form factor. Overall, if you are looking for a compact, premium smartphone with good camera capabilities, consider the Vivo V70.
| Vivo V70 Specifications | |
| Display | 6.59-inch, 1,260x2,750 pixels |
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 |

Vivo’s V70 Elite is a brand-new device added to the brand’s V-series. The ‘Elite’ sits above the ‘Pro’ in terms of placement and packs in plenty of premium bits to maintain its image and differences. The phone’s design is big on durability but also has a metal frame sandwiched between two sheets of flat glass. Its design can be considered compact even if it is not a “mini” device.
The display has gone flat but it gets plenty bright outdoors and is capable of displaying HDR content in all its glory. The underlying processor is a capable one and gets the job done for gaming and daily tasks.
Camera performance is a mixed bag. We have a really poor ultrawide camera accompanied by capable primary and telephoto cameras which perform well in both daylight and low-light conditions.
Battery life is good for a compact device despite its high capacity. Charging is fast although there’s no wireless charging available.
| Vivo V70 Elite Specifications | |
| Display | 6.59-inch, 1,260x2,750 pixels |
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 |
| RAM | 8GB |

The Google Pixel 10a is essentially a carbon copy of the Pixel 9a. It has a compact form factor and a minimalist design that feels quite premium with some minor changes to the flat camera module. The phone also retains its IP68 rating.
The display has thick borders but overall offers good visuals and gets very bright. These are accompanied by great-sounding speakers. Performance is not an issue and the phone can power through 3D games without much effort and maintain sustained performance.
There are just two rear cameras but they offer rock solid still imaging at their native focal lengths. The selfie camera also does a good job but the video recording quality leaves a lot to be desired.
Battery life is good for a compact device and can easily last a whole day of casual or heavy use. Wired and wireless charging are now faster but still slow compared to the competition.
| Google Pixel 10a Specifications | |
| Display | 6.30-inch, 1080x2424 pixels |

At a price point of Rs. 29,999, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G will be a step forward for users upgrading from a couple of generations older Note series models. However, buyers expecting the kind of category-defining value the series was once known for may find themselves looking more closely at its alternatives, such as the Motorola Edge 70 and Vivo V60e.

The Realme GT 8 Pro has a brand-new design which uses a new organosilicon environmentally-friendly material for its rear panel with the Urban Blue finish. The phone looks unique, feels premium and includes premium features like an IP69 rating and wireless charging.
Its display is plenty sharp and also gets very bright, which is useful when viewing movies or playing games outdoors. The display is also very fast and users can take advantage of its maximum refresh rate thanks to a secondary AI chip.
Camera performance is pretty good, but this is mainly limited to the new periscopic telephoto camera. Video recording quality if fine in daylight but not the best in low light.
The phone has a massive battery, which easily lasts beyond a day of casual use. Wired charging is pretty fast and the phone also has fast wireless charging.
| Realme GT 8 Pro Specifications | |
| Display | 6.79-inch, 1,440x3,136 pixels |

The Oppo Find X9 is a premium smartphone that offers Pro features in a compact form factor. The phone has a slim and stylish design that feels premium and is also IP69-rated for dust and water. While the front feels familiar, the rear camera module gets a compact layout.
There’s enough raw performance for handling daily tasks, multitasking and gaming. We faced no slowdowns while browsing through its software and the same can be said about the gaming experience.
The Find X9 gets a new primary camera which delivers in terms of overall imaging quality. The telephoto camera shoots sharp and detailed photos at 3X, but the ultrawide camera isn’t the best we have seen at this price point.
Battery life is stellar for a compact smartphone. The high-capacity silicon-carbon lithium-ion battery easily managed over a day of heavy usage. Casual users will see the phone last for up to two days on a full charge.
| OPPO Find X9 Specifications | |
| Display | 6.59-inch, 1256x2760 pixels |

It’s still every bit the performance-first flagship, just now with a more mature identity.

Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition is a nicely done phone with design elements inspired by HBO's iconic series. The attention to detail is amazing, and there are plenty of design elements that are inspired by the GOT series. The colour changing back is a USP. The Realme 15 Pro Game of Thrones Limited Edition also gets plenty of UI elements inspired by the show. In everyday usage, the phone works well and delivers on every front. The UI receives some bloatware, which hampers the experience slightly, but not a deal breaker in any way. This one here is truly made for GOT phones.

The Vivo V60e is positioned as a mid-premium handset that serves as a ‘lite’ version of the V60. It can give you multi-day use with its large battery, while the cameras can capture fantastic shots when the lighting is right. However, the experience isn’t perfect. Bloatware issues are persistent, and the screen struggles to deliver in outdoor conditions. Despite its shortcomings, the Vivo V60e is a good choice for camera enthusiasts and a strong performer.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL ticks all the right boxes when it comes to a flagship Android smartphone and can go head-to-head with any modern-day premium smartphone. The cameras are typically Pixel, which means if you're familiar with Google's camera prowess, then this won't disappoint you. The display is bright and works well, while the battery will impress you. The only department that somewhat misses the boat this year is performance, and that doesn't include regular everyday usage, but instead handling heavy graphics games or editing on the go.

The Pixel 10 at Rs. 79,999 is for those who want a pure Android experience and would love to have a Google phone. It is one of the best entry-level Pixels in a long time. The biggest addition is the 5x telephoto lens that's missing on a lot of rival devices. The AI features on board are still worth trying, and some of them work better than what iPhones (up to iPhone 16) were offering till now. The primary camera is a solid one and won't disappoint in any situation. Overall, the Pixel 10 is for purists who love a raw Google experience.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a brand new design that is not only slim but a bit wider as well. Made from the same armour aluminium used in other models, there’s now a large cover display with floating cameras in it. Despite its slimmer design and new hinge, the phone has an IP48 rating against dust and water.
Inside, there is a homegrown processor which offers enough performance for everyday multitasking but falls a bit short when it comes to gaming. The processor runs hot and bogs the phone down when stressed, be it when playing games or using the camera app.
Camera performance is pretty average as the camera hardware remains unchanged from the previous model. Video recording is quite stable but not the best we have seen at this price point.
Battery life is a bit underwhelming as the phone barely gets through the day with heavy usage. Charging too is relatively slow and Samsung does not include a charger in the box.

Motorola’s Moto G96 has a design that makes use of glass, silicon and polycarbonate, but still manages to deliver an IP68 rating. The phone has a classy design with tapered sides thanks to the curved-edge front and rear panels.
The phone’s processor is a capable one and delivers reliable performance whether its daily app multitasking or mid-level gaming. Heating is also not an issue.
Camera performance is quite good both in daylight and in low light. The primary camera steals the show, while the ultrawide camera, which also doubles up as the macro camera, is present just to fill up the spec sheet.
Software is updated, but Motorola’s one year OS commitment seems a bit shaky given that it's still running Android 15. Battery life can easily last a day with heavy usage. Charging speeds are quick enough for a smartphone at this price point.
