BQ is a Spanish consumer electronics and software development company. BQ claims to have launched the world's first smartphone running Ubuntu OS. The device runs a version of Linux distro Ubuntu's OS optimised for smartphones. The company has also made a smartphone for people with reduced mobility. It has offices in Europe and China. BQ's latest mobile launch is the Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition. The phone comes with a 5.00-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 pixels by 1280 pixels at a PPI of 294 pixels per inch.

The BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM. The phone packs 16GB of internal storage cannot be expanded. As far as the cameras are concerned, the BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

The BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition runs Ubuntu Touch and is powered by a 2500mAh non removable battery. It measures 142.00 x 71.00 x 8.65 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 134.00 grams.

The BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile that accepts Micro-SIM and Micro-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and 3G. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
