Premium build quality
The biggest change on the OnePlus 3 can be spotted just by looking at it. The Chinese smartphone company has gone in for an aluminium alloy unibody. The bulky brick-like form that was on the OnePlus 2 is gone, and is replaced by a slim premium metal design. This OnePlus 3 is sleek, good to hold in the hand, agile, and well-built. It is just 7.3mm thick with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection on the front, and sports really thin bezels around the display. All in all, it appears OnePlus has learnt its lessons, and made all the right iterations to make the OnePlus 3 worthy of a flagship battle.

Top-notch performance
The OnePlus 3 smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC seen on most flagships this year. Alongside, it is paired with the latest 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM (the highest in the market) to provide the best combination there is. This powerhouse bundle makes the smartphone fast, responsive, and enables seamless multitasking. It ensures optimal stutter-free performance, with negligible heating issues even during power usage.

Great display
On paper, OnePlus 3 maintains the same display size and resolution as previous generatins, with a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) display with 401ppi density just like the OnePlus 2. However, OnePlus has used an 'Optic Amoled' display instead this time, enabling the NTSC colour gamut. The display effectively allows better readability in bright sunlight and harsh lighting conditions. In our review, we realised that the OnePlus 3 is among the best full-HD smartphone screens on the market currently, and while it isn't the brightest - it is has great blacks, good colour accuracy, and the ability to modify colour temperature and turn on a night mode.

Honourable mentions
There are a few honourable mentions as well, such as the Dash Charge tech, the decent camera, and the fingerprint sensor, which is one of the fastest we've seen yet.

The Dash Charge technology that charges the smartphone to about 60 percent in just 30 minutes. The voltage and current regulation happen on the adapter rather than the phone, ensuring the smartphone does not heat up dramatically during fast charging and can be used alongside. However, this also means that Dash Charge will only work when the smartphone is charged with the bundled adapter, and will not function with any other adapter.

The camera on the OnePlus is hoarded with features, and also supports 4K video shooting. Videos and stills are excellent in good light, while producing acceptable results in low light. OnePlus has also made some upgrades to the fingerprint sensor below the display to make it really fast and accurate.
