HTC Desire 210 Dual SIM and Desire 816 smartphones launched in India

Apart from confirming the price and availability of the HTC One (M8) smartphone, the Taiwanese smartphone maker has also introduced new budget smartphone HTC Desire 210 Dual SIM and the mid-range HTC Desire 816.

The HTC Desire 210 Dual SIM - priced at Rs. 8,700 - will be available by April end, while the HTC Desire 816 will be available at Rs. 23,990 "within two weeks."

The HTC Desire 210 Dual SIM runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with company's Sense UI on top. It comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480x800 pixels) display. As the name suggests, it is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device, which supports one Micro-SIM and takes another regular sized SIM.

It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6572M) processor alongside 512MB of RAM. The Desire 210 Dual SIM sports 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone offers 4GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, EDGE/GPRS and 3G. The phone is backed by a 1300mAh battery.

The HTC Desire 816, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) display and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, alongside 1.5GB of RAM. It includes 8GB of inbuilt storage with support for microSD cards up to 128GB.

There's no word on the Android version on the HTC Desire 816, though HTC did confirm the presence of HTC Sense 5.5 UI on top. It sports a 13-megapixel f/2.2 rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Notably, HTC announced the mid-range Desire smartphone, the Desire 816 at the sidelines of MWC, alongside the HTC Desire 610.

Commenting on the launch of the Desire 210 Dual SIM, Jack Yang, President, HTC South Asia said, "It is a phone that everyone will want, with amazing technology at the entry-level market space. This latest HTC Desire range combines, fast dual-core processor speeds, premium features at a affordable price offering for users with the best experience at this category."
