Samsung, Nokia and now HTC. No this isn't a poll for ranking companies, but those who've joined the bandwagon of 'Windows Phone 8' devices. Engadget has learned that HTC has sent out an invite stating a date for September 19 saying "Join HTC to see what's next".

The company is likely to announce its lineup of Windows Phone 8 devices at the event to be held in New York. These could well be the Zenith, Accord and Rio phones that we had reported about back in June.

The invitation comes soon after Apple sent out an invite for its September 12 event, where it's likely to unveil the next iteration of its iPhone.

HTC's invite, however, does not outrightly state that the company will be announcing devices based on Microsoft's latest OS. The symbol at the bottom somewhat hints at the Metro design of the OS and looks nothing related to Android.

Speaking of the phones, the Accord will be the mid-range phone of the trio, the Zenith probably the high-end model and the Rio will feature in the low-end segment.

In June, Microsoft had announced that the first devices to run on the all-new Windows Phone 8 will be manufactured by Nokia, HTC, Samsung and Huawei. Looks like, Huawei is the only manufacturer which is yet to announce its set of Windows Phone 8 devices.

Samsung has already announced the ATIV S smartphone and Nokia plans to unveil the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 phones. With HTC next in line, we'll have to wait and see what Huawei has up its sleeve.
