During one of its World Wide Developers Conference sessions, Apple has revealed that it will allow developers to offer the ability to send data to Bluetooth connected devices through their apps even when they're not running in iOS 7 and OS X Mavericks operating systems.

This essentially means that Bluetooth Smart devices like smart watches will be able to offer advanced functionality without the the need for the user to keep a check.

According to a report by Apple Insider, Apple has now granted access to the Notification Center and to Preservation and Restoration services.  These services will allow apps that are not actively running in the front to continue sending information to devices connected via Bluetooth.

Bluetooth SIG has also welcomed the move and CMO Suke Jawanda said that following this move Apple has made it much easier for developers to create Bluetooth Smart products to connect with Apple devices without having to worry about the code needed to offer integration with Apple devices.

Meanwhile, it's also being reported that the update Camera app that comes with iOS 7 allows users to zoom while shooting videos. This feature is not supported in the iOS 6 Camera app though a few third party apps offered this functionality and required additional post processing after the video was shot.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, the video zoom feature doesn't pan in as much as it does while taking still images but offers a 2-3x zoom. It's a welcome move as users will be able to shoot richer and more dynamic videos through their iPhones. Other phones including Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S III already offer this feature.

Apple unveiled iOS 7 on Monday with a brand new interface, and a slew of new features. Similar to previous iOS updates.
