Lenovo appears to have grand plans for its upcoming K4 Note phablet, which is set to launch in India on January 5. In the latest teaser of the K4 Note, the successor to this year's popular K3 Note, the company has revealed that the phablet will come equipped with the near field communication (NFC) sensor.

The Chinese electronics giant has taken to the social media to reveal that the Lenovo K4 Note phablet will offer support for the near field communication feature. For a refresh, NFC such as Bluetooth allows users to transfer data between two devices, or connect two devices. However, unlike Bluetooth connectivity, NFC doesn't require pairing. In addition, NFC-equipped smartphones also serve as a smart card, allowing users to make transactions such as payment or ticketing.

The addition of NFC connectivity feature makes the upcoming Lenovo K4 Note more enticing. From our earlier reports and company's previous teasers, the Lenovo K4 Note will feature 3GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor, and all metal body. The K3 Note sports a plastic body, and offers 2GB of RAM, and lacks a fingerprint sensor.

The company wouldn't want to leave any stone unturned for the Lenovo K4 Note. The Lenovo K3 Note, its immediate predecessor has been a huge success for the company. Lenovo told Gadgets 360 earlier this month that it has sold more than 1.2 million units of the Lenovo K3 Note in India in less than six months since the launch of the phablet in the country. The Lenovo K3 Note was launched in India in June 2015 at a price point of Rs. 9,999.
