Micromax's Yu brand has lately been teasing its upcoming high-end Yutopia smartphone in a series of social posts. However, a new leaked benchmark listing has suggested that the company might be working on another handset dubbed Yu Yuphoria (Yu6000), which is said to be the successor of the Yu Yuphoria (seen above) smartphone currently available in the market.

According to the GFXBench listing, the Yu Yuphoria (Yu6000) will feature upgraded specifications for its predecessor. The handset is said to feature a 4.6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display; octa-core MediaTek (MT6753) processor; 3GB of RAM; 16GB of inbuilt storage; a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front camera.

So far, the company has revealed no plans to launch a new variant of its Yuphoria smartphone. The handset back in October received a Rs. 500 price cut and was available to purchase at Rs. 6,499. The smartphone was also available running Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box instead of Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12 custom ROM.

To refresh, the Yu Yuphoria launched back in May with a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) TFT IPS display; powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor; 2GB of RAM; Adreno 306 GPU; 16GB of built-in storage; dual-SIM; 4G LTE connectivity; an 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.2 lens and LED flash; a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, and a 2230mAh battery. We can expect the company to phase out the Yuphoria, soon after the launch of its successor.

Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures may have not revealed a launch date for its upcoming high-end Yutopia smartphone; though has revealed various specifications.

So far, the company has confirmed that the Yu Yutopia will include 32GB of inbuilt storage instead of 16GB, which is still the minimum inbuilt storage given by Apple in its iPhone models. The company also confirmed a Quad HD display on the Yu Yutopia smartphone. If true, this would be the company's first smartphone featuring a QHD display. The company also hinted that the Yutopia would sport a metal build which would be company's first smartphone made out of metal.
