Motorola's G series is expanding beyond the Rs. 20,000 price segment in India and the Moto G82 5G is the first phone commanding such a premium. It features a 120Hz pOLED display, stereo speakers, IP52 rating, and a 50-megapixel primary camera. Should you be paying a premium for these features or will you be better off saving money and buying a cheaper alternative? Here's my review.

Moto G82 5G Summary

Moto G82 5G mobile was launched on 12th May 2022. The phone comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate 6.60-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels (FHD+) at a pixel density of 402 pixels per inch (ppi) and an aspect ratio of 20:9. Moto G82 5G is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. It comes with 6GB, 8GB of RAM. The Moto G82 5G runs Android 12 and is powered by a 5000mAh non-removable battery.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Moto G82 5G on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel (f/1.8, 0.64-micron) primary camera; an 8-megapixel (f/2.2, 1.12-micron, ultra wide-angle) camera, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4, 1.75-micron, macro) camera. The rear camera setup has autofocus. It has a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.0-micron.

Moto G82 5G is based on Android 12 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 1000GB) with a dedicated slot. The Moto G82 5G is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. The Moto G82 5G measures 160.89 x 74.46 x 7.99mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 173.00 grams. It was launched in Meteorite Gray and White Lily colours.

Connectivity options on the Moto G82 5G include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.20, NFC, USB Type-C, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India) , and 5G. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.
