Google at its press event on Tuesday revealed the new Nexus smartphones alongside announcing the new Chromecast and other updates. The company also showcased its upcoming Google Pixel C tablet, which the company touted is part of the company's line-up of Pixel devices that also includes Chromebook Pixel laptops.

The company on Tuesday stressed that the Pixel line-up is being expanded with the first Android tablet built "end-to-end by Google".

For design, the company claimed that the Pixel C will bring the familiar resemblance of Pixel Chromebook laptops with its anodised aluminium design.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Pixel C tablet is widely believed to be Google's answer to Apple's iPad Pro and Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 tablets. Google's Pixel C will be available in two storage options: 32GB priced at $499 (approximately Rs. 32,800) and 64GB at $599 (approximately Rs. 39,500). The tablet was showcased with the Pixel C Keyboard, which will be available separately at $149 (approximately Rs. 10,000). Google has announced that the Pixel C tablet alongside the Pixel C Keyboard will be available in time for the holidays without giving an exact release time frame. Much like other Nexus devices, the Pixel C will be also available via Google Store.

The Pixel C tablet can be attached to the Google-manufactured full-size keyboard magnetically and tilted from 100 degrees to 135 degrees. The tablet connects to the keyboard via Bluetooth. The Keyboard can be magnetically attached to the back of the tablet for storage, and can be charged inductively through the tablet.
