BenQ W11000 4K DLP Projector Launched at Rs. 3,99,000

Taipei-based technology major BenQ on Thursday launched a new digital home cinema projector - the BenQ W11000 4K DLP Projector - which it says will deliver long-lasting picture quality with precise colours and sharp clarity. The company says it is the only DLP 4K UHD Home Cinema Projector in the world with THX HD Display Certification.

BenQ says the W11000 4K DLP Projector harnesses 'DLP 4K UHD DMD' with XPR technology to output a 4K UHD (3840x2160 pixels) resolution picture, and it is priced at Rs. 3,99,000.

"No other projector demonstrates mastery of DLP, derived from the same technology in use at 100 percent of the world's IMAX auditoriums, with 8.3-million pixel UHD performance and THX Certification," Rajeev Singh, Managing Director, BenQ India, told reporters in New Delhi.

"W11000's Active Iris and Dynamic Black technology "SmartEco" and proprietary black paint sealed light engine produces 50,000:1 dynamic contrast performance for fine detail rendition in the darkest and brightest scenes without washout to preserve every subtlety of the original content," BenQ added.

BenQ says the W11000's CinemaMaster image processing technology provides vivid colour reproduction, flesh tone correction, and advanced digital color and luminance noise reduction. W11000 is also said to be ISFccc calibration ready, enabling professional in-home custom calibration. The W11000 also features H/V lens shift and 1.5X big zoom for precisely custom installations.

According to a recent report by research and consulting firm Futuresource Consulting, BenQ has 39 percent share in the SVGA (Super Video Graphics Array) market, 61 percent in the short throw market, and leads in the corporate high-brightness category with a 37 percent market share and 47 percent in the full-HD vertical.
