Bose has introduced its SoundTouch Wi-Fi music systems in India, enabling users to stream music wirelessly. They are also Apple AirPlay-enabled

The audio equipment giant announced the launch of three one-piece systems - the SoundTouch 30 Wi-Fi, SoundTouch 20 Wi-Fi, and SoundTouch Portable Wi-Fi.

The SoundTouch 30 Wi-Fi system measures approximately 10 x 17 x 7 inch. The system offers exclusive wave guide technology and a new proprietary woofer to deliver enhanced sound and the power to serve as a home's main music system, according to Bose.

The SoundTouch 20 Wi-Fi system is more compact with dimensions of 7 x 12 x 4 inch.

The SoundTouch Portable Wi-Fi system comes with a rechargeable, lithium-ion battery and is a portable system measuring 6 x 10 x 3 inch.

"SoundTouch Wi-Fi systems are unlike any home sound system available today," said Phil Hess, vice president of Bose Home Entertainment. "They let you stream your favourite stations, playlists or artists in the easiest way imaginable, and they sound amazing. We believe SoundTouch systems will change music at home the way Bluetooth speakers changed music on-the-go."

The SoundTouch Wi-Fi systems offer streaming music through a button located on the systems, or via an app for advanced functionality.

The systems feature six presets on the system itself or the system's included remote, and each can be personalised to an Internet radio station, music service channel, or stored playlist.

The Bose SoundTouch app allows users to use their smartphone, tablet or computer for browsing and discovering content, operating the SoundTouch systems in any room wirelessly, and combine all music services and stations with one look and feel. The new SoundTouch app is compatible with most Android, iOS, Mac OS and Windows systems.

Bose will also offer the SoundTouch controller, an accessory controller that works with any SoundTouch system. It features a circular design, volume dial and proximity sensor. All essential functions and information are integrated with the controller, including an OLED preset preview.

The SoundTouch controller can be placed on a table, or on the wall using an included bracket.

The SoundTouch music systems are also AirPlay enabled, so users will be able to stream content from their iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch.

"With SoundTouch systems, Bose has made Wi-Fi music easier and better -- for any need, any room and anyone," said Hess. "They offer performance only available from Bose, and continue our nearly 50-year history of innovation."

Bose also informs it will introduce the SoundTouch version of its Wave music system for the bedroom or kitchen, later this year. It also plans to launch SoundTouch enabled versions of 'JC' Wi-Fi music system with two tiny Jewel Cube speakers and an Acoustimass module, weather-resistant Bose outdoor speakers, Lifestyle home theatre systems and the VideoWave entertainment system, early next year.

The SoundTouch 30 system will be available for Rs. 52,763. The SoundTouch 20 system has been priced at Rs.32,512.50 and the SoundTouch Portable system will be sold for  Rs. 32,512.50.

All the systems will be available by mid-November, 2013, in India through Bose retail stores and Boseindia.com when it launches and a month later across authorised Bose dealers.
