Cyberpunk 2077 received Update 2.2 in December 2024, four years after the game launched. At the time, that seemed to be the final update the RPG would receive as developer CD Project Red shifted its focus to The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2. The Polish studio, however, is not yet done with the game. Cyberpunk 2077 is getting yet another update later this month, CD Projekt Red announced at its REDstreams livestream for the game's Nintendo Switch 2 launch on Thursday.

Cyberpunk Update 2.3 Announced

The developer will roll out Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 on June 26 and will share details about the patch closer to its release. “Before we wrap up, there's one question that's repeated in the chat a lot,” CD Projekt Red senior community manager Alicja Kozera said at the Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 launch livestream. “You've been asking for another DLC for Cyberpunk. And I can tell you right now that we're planning another part for the game. The last one wasn't the last one.”

“We're not done yet,” the studio's global community director Marcin Momot said in a post on X after the stream. “Stay tuned for more info about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update coming later this month.” Momot said the team would share details about the contents of Update 2.3 closer to its release.

Pawel Sasko, associate game director at CD Projekt Red, also confirmed the update on X on Thursday and said he was personally working on the patch.

Cyberpunk 2077 Post-Launch Support

The upcoming update marks an impressive life cycle for post-launch support for Cyberpunk 2077. The game launched on December 10, 2020, riddled with bugs, glitches and severe performance issues, especially on previous-generation consoles. Over the years, CD Projekt Red released several major updates, fixing the game's many issues, adding new and requested features and overhauling its systems.

The company rolled out patch 2.0 alongside the Cyberpunk 2077's first and only major expansion, Phantom Liberty in 2023, reworking several game mechanics, including the police system and skill trees.

The RPG seemingly received its last major patch with Update 2.1, which added a long-requested metro system, the ability to hang out with romantic partners, radio stations, and more. CD Projekt Red, however, did not stop there. In December 2024, the developer rolled out Update 2.2, adding new customisation options, an overhauled photo mode and new interactions for Johnny Silverhand.

Earlier this year, the game received Patch 2.21, which added support for Nvidia DLSS 4 on PC and alongside a host of fixes across all platforms.

On June 5, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which bundles the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion, released as a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.

CD Projekt Red, meanwhile, is working on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. The game recently shed its Project Orion codename and is now known as Cyberpunk 2. The game has entered the pre-production phase, CD Projekt Red confirmed last month at its first-quarter earnings call.
