Highlights
  • Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch is out on November 17
  • The game is more expensive than other Switch titles
  • The Nintendo Switch is not available in India officially yet

The Nintendo Switch may not have an official India release, but Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch is and it has a price too. Local game store, Games the Shop has a listing for Bethesda's open-world role-playing adventure along with a surprisingly steep Rs. 3,999 price. Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch has a November 17 release date.

In comparison, new Nintendo Switch games such as Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and Cars 3: Driven to Win cost Rs. 3,499 and Rs. 2,499 respectively, making the Rs. 3,999 price for Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch outrageous to say the least.

Games The Shop is owned by E-xpress — India’s biggest distributor for video games. Skyrim for the Nintendo Switch is published by Bethesda known for the Elder Scrolls and Dishonored series of games. Bethesda games in India are distributed by E-xpress.

Incidentally, Doom for the Nintendo Switch which also published by Bethesda is also up for pre-order. No price has been given though it's safe to say it would be the same - Rs. 4,000.

This isn't the first time a distributor has made a game officially available in India for a console that hasn't had a release through its manufacturer. We've seen this with the Nintendo DS and 3DS getting Pokemon games via Sunder Electronics and Nintendo Wii titles from E-xpress and the now defunct Milestone Interactive in the past.
