Sony has launched a new web version of its Reader Store allowing book lovers to purchase titles without having to install Sony's Reader Library software.

The announcement which came via a company blog post stated that users can access the store on popular browsers like Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer. E-books bought by users will be available to them on the Reader app or other wireless devices. These e-books also work on other Adobe DRM supported apps and devices non-Sony devices as well.

What's more, Sony has also launched an update for the Android version of the app with a landscape viewing mode, a revamped user interface and improved stability. Users can access a range of bestsellers, bargain priced and free books. The app synchronises your library, reading position, bookmarks, and highlights to your Reader Store account.
