Alcatel One Touch Idol 2, Idol 2 Mini and Pop Fit smartphones unveiled

The Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 has been priced at 199 Euros (Rs. 16,999 approximately), while the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini will be available at 169 Euros (Rs. 14,400 approximately) and the Alcatel One Touch Pop Fit has been priced at 89 Euros (Rs. 7,599 approximately). The company is yet to reveal the availability details of the three new Alcatel smartphones.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 is a mid-range smartphone sporting a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (unspecified chipset) alongside 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box and is slated to get an OTA Android 4.4 KitKat update later this year. The One Touch Idol 2 features an 8-megapixel rear camera and also houses a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the smartphone include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 3G. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed storage, battery, dimensions and weight details of the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini, on the other hand, features a 4.5-inch 540x960 display and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradeable to Android 4.4). Notably, the One Touch Idol 2 Mini smartphone packs identical specifications to its elder sibling (One Touch Idol 2), except that the Idol 2 Mini sports a 2-megapixel front-facing camera (1.3-megapixel on Idol 2).

Lastly, the Alcatel One Touch Pop Fit features a 2.8-inch QVGA (240x320) display. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor along with 512MB of RAM. The One Touch Pop Fit comes in 16GB and 32GB inbuilt storage variants, which is non-expandable. Alcatel is promoting the Alcatel One Touch Pop Fit as a 'wearable' smartphone, as the device comes bundled with accessories like armband case, a semi-transparent flip cover, back covers in five colours (black, blue, pink, red and yellow) and JBL in-ear headphones.
