LG G3 users will reportedly receive the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update before the end of this year.

According to a report by a Dutch website, LG has promised its Dutch and Belgian users of LG G3 that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be released before the end of 2014; however it did not include exact timing for the update.

Update: LG Germany has confirmed the roll-out of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its G3 flagship in Q4 2014 on its Facebook page, adding that the update for the LG G2 will follow.

Recently, Samsung's plan of updating its flagship Galaxy S5 to Android 5.0 Lollipop in December was reported as well. The report said the Lollipop update for the Galaxy S5 might take up to a full month to roll out to every handset worldwide. Samsung hasn't officially announced any plans to release Android 5.0 Lollipop for the Galaxy S5, but the South Korean giant has already hinted the Lollipop update will be coming soon for Galaxy Note 4.

Earlier this month, HTC and Sony had officially confirmed the devices that will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update from the respective companies. While four of HTC's smartphones will be receiving an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop, Sony announced that the entire Xperia Z lineup will be updated to the new OS version.

Other than HTC's official announcement for four devices -  HTC One (M7); HTC One (M8); HTC One mini, and HTC One mini 2 - a report last week claimed that the company's list of devices for the update could be longer. The update will reportedly make its way to the HTC Desire Eye, HTC One (M8) Dual SIM, HTC One (M7) Dual SIM, HTC One (E8), HTC One (E8) Dual SIM, HTC Butterfly 2, HTC Desire 816, HTC One Max, and HTC Butterfly S handsets as well.
