It seems Motorola has finally resolved the Moto G unregistered IMEI number issue affecting some Moto G units, by registering all the IMEI numbers with all network operators in the country.

Motorola in a Facebook post confirmed that it had resolved the unregistered IMEI number issue and also appealed to impacted customers to activate their Moto G units.

MotoG update: We wanted to let you know that we now have #MotoG devices with IMEI nos starting with 3533 registered with ALL network operators. All impacted customers can now activate your phones immediately.

Once again apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and faith in Motorola!

The unregistered IMEI issue on some Moto G units came to light on Sunday when Motorola posted a status update on its Facebook page stating that it had discovered an activation problem with some Moto G devices sold in India, elaborating that these units featured IMEI numbers that had not yet been registered with carriers.

The handset maker had informed users with these handsets would face network connectivity issues, in fact - not be able to connect to networks at all. The company added it owes affected customers a 'big apology', and that it was working around the clock with Flipkart, its exclusive retail partner in India, to resolve the issue. Motorola said impacted customers had already been sent an email informing them what to do to get their phones working.

It's worth noting that not many handset makers have had as successful a return to the Indian smartphone market as Motorola. The company is immensely popular in India with its three currently available handsets in India - Moto E, Moto G and Moto X. Currently, the Moto E and Moto G are sold out at Flipkart.

Motorola on Tuesday announced the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update for its Moto E, Moto G and Moto X.
