About Chaahat Movie (1996)

Roop Singh (Shah Rukh Khan), a small-time singer based in Rajasthan, has come to Bombay along with his ailing father (Anupam Kher), who needs immediate medical treatment.

Love comes knocking at his door when he falls for a gorgeous nurse in Pooja (Pooja Bhatt).

Things take a dramatic turn when a spoilt rich woman called Reshma (Ramya Krishnan) — who happens to be in the audience of one of his performances — becomes obsessed with him.

The unhealthy obsession grows to the point of Reshma threatening to kill herself if Singh doesn’t marry her.

Her devious brother Ajay Narang (Naseeruddin Shah) — who has always fulfilled Reshma’s wishes — adds another villainous angle.

Whom will Roop choose, the love of his life or a spoilt woman with enough resources to destroy his loved ones?
