Samsung's proprietary is said to have outperformed the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series SoCs across CPU, GPU, AI and power-efficiency tests.
Exynos 2700 is the purported successor to Samsung Foundry's Exynos 2600 SoC

Samsung is rumoured to be developing Exynos 2700 as its next-generation flagship processor for mobile devices. It is expected to power the Galaxy S27 series, which is slated to debut in at a Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2027. While the South Korean tech conglomerate has yet to confirm its plans, a new report suggests that Samsung's proprietary processor may have outperformed Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chips in Samsung's internal testing.
Citing industry sources, South Korean publication SEDaily reports that Samsung's MX division recently conducted internal tests comparing the Exynos 2700 with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 lineup, which comprises the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The report claims that Samsung's processor triumphed ahead across CPU, GPU, AI and power-efficiency tests.
In the Geekbench 6.5 multi-core test, the Exynos 2700 reportedly scored 19 percent higher than the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. It also allegedly recorded a 9.5 percent higher score than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro variant.
As per the report, the advantage also extends to GPU performance. Exynos 2700 is said to have delivered 5 percent higher peak performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. Under a low-power 2.5W test, Samsung's purported chip is said to have performed 22 percent better than Qualcomm's Pro variant and 24 percent better than the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.
In terms of AI performance, Exynos 2700 reportedly generated responses 18 percent faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro when running Meta's Llama 3.1 8-billion-parameter model. It was also reportedly able to recognise and process user prompts 5 percent faster than Qualcomm's chip.
Samsung's Exynos chips have historically struggled when it comes to power efficiency. But if the report is to be believed, Exynos 2700 could mark a significant shift on this front. A power-consumption test that simulated smartphone usage revealed that Exynos 2700 reportedly consumed 161mA, compared to 185mA for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, which is a claimed reduction of 12.7 percent.
These figures, however, are based on Samsung's internal testing and should not be treated as independent benchmark results.
While specifics about the chip remain under wraps, Exynos 2700 is rumoured to be manufactured using Samsung Foundry's SF2P process. It could bring about improvements in power efficiency, thermal management, and overall computing performance. A launch date of the SoC is unknown but there is a chance it could be announced towards the end of the year, similar to the current flagship Exynos 2600, before making its debut in the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027.
