Xiaomi's Mijia 6 covers spaces up to 940 sq ft
Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact in India as the first products under its Mijia smart home sub-brand in the country. The company has also brought back the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite. The new models target different room sizes and offer features such as multi-stage filtration, air-quality monitoring and app-based controls. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is said to target larger spaces, while the 4 Compact is designed for smaller rooms.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is priced at Rs. 19,999 in India. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact costs Rs. 7,999. Xiaomi is also reintroducing the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite at Rs. 12,999.
All three air purifiers will be available from September 2 through the Xiaomi India website, Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Xiaomi Retail and Xiaomi Exclusive stores.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 covers areas of up to 940 sq ft based on two air changes per hour. It has a Particle CADR of 443 cubic metres per hour and a Formaldehyde CADR of 218 cubic metres per hour. Xiaomi says it can circulate clean air through a 108 sq ft room in around 3.5 minutes under its test conditions.
The purifier uses a five-stage PentaClean system with filtration, activated carbon, UV-C light and negative ion technology. It targets pollutants such as dust, pollen, pet dander, smoke and formaldehyde. A large colour display shows PM2.5 and PM1 levels, temperature, humidity and air-quality information.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 also has a Sleep Mode that operates at around 32dB(A). The UV-C LED works inside the purifier and along the airflow path, while the negative ion function is enabled by default and can be switched off through the Xiaomi Home app.
The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is designed for spaces larger than 400 sq ft. It uses a 3-in-1 filtration system that captures 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns. The system targets dust, pollen, smoke, pet hair and pet dander, and the purifier carries TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification.
The Mijia 4 Compact features a four-colour air-quality indicator. Green represents good air quality, while yellow, orange and red indicate increasing pollution levels. Auto Mode adjusts purification based on detected air quality, while Sleep and Manual modes provide other operating options.
Mijia's 4 Compact weighs 2.2kg and can be placed on a desk, side table or floor. Its Sleep Mode runs at 20dB and switches off the display. Xiaomi says running the purifier continuously at maximum power for 24 hours consumes around 0.65kWh of electricity.
Both Mijia models support the Xiaomi Home app for remote control, air-quality monitoring, settings and scheduling. They also support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for compatible voice commands.
Xiaomi is also reintroducing the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite in India, which was initially launched in 2023. It offers up to 360 cubic metres per hour of Particle CADR and covers 269 sq ft to 463 sq ft. The purifier uses a three-layer filtration system with a primary filter, high-efficiency filter and activated carbon. It also has TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care Certification, a 33.4dB(A) Night Mode, real-time air-quality monitoring and Xiaomi Home app support.
