This week has some of the biggest releases on different OTT platforms. We have the much-awaited The Family Man Season 3 on Amazon Prime Video, while The Bengal Files is now streaming on ZEE5. Interestingly, for those who want to deep dive into Bollywood's biggest family, the Kapoors, can watch Dining with The Kapoors on Netflix India. More importantly, this week also includes Homebound, India's latest film that got an entry into the Oscars. They will share their love for food and how the family's legacy has been closely tied to their culinary interests. Inspired by the story of migrant workers, Homebound is an intense drama film that revolves around two childhood friends, belonging to a marginalized community, who seek to escape poverty and join the police forces. As they begin their journey towards achieving their goal, only one of them becomes successful. Furthermore, they must navigate their way through the COVID lockdown. The film explores the tested bonds, inequalities, and the struggle to achieve ambition.
Written and directed by Panem Prabhakar, Usiru is a Kannada Thriller film that follows dual storylines where one focuses on a youth who is seeking revenge for his parents' murder, while the other storyline centres around a troubled police officer, who must save his pregnant wife from a trap where the ladies are being brutally murdered during August.
