Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to launch later this year. The Chinese tech giant has not revealed any official information about the purported handset, but leaked details have started surfacing online. Previous reports have suggested the probable screen sizes and the chipset for the upcoming foldable. Now, the battery and charging specifications of the rumoured Vivo X Fold 5 have been leaked. The leak also claims that the next-generation base X Fold model may be cheaper than the existing Vivo X Fold 3 Pro variant.

Vivo X Fold 5 Key Features, Price Range (Expected)

The Vivo X Fold 5 could be backed by a 6,000mAh battery, according to a Weibo post by tipster Panda is Very Bald (translated from Chinese). The handset is expected to come with support for 90W wired and 30W wireless charging. If this is true, then the X Fold 5 could be the first foldable to pack such a large capacity battery.

The tipster also noted in one of the comments under the original post that the standard Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to be cheaper than the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, which was launched in China in March 2024 at CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 1,16,000) for the 16GB + 512GB version.

Notably, the higher 16GB + 1TB variant of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro cost CNY 10,999 (roughly Rs. 1,27,600) at the time of launch. The base 12GB + 256GB option of the vanilla Vivo X Fold 3, on the other hand, began at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 80,000).

The purported Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to compete in the Chinese market with the Oppo Find N5 and the anticipated Honor Magic V5. In China, the 12GB + 256GB option of the Oppo Find N5 starts at CNY 8,999 (roughly Rs. 1,06,700), while the 16GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants cost CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 1,18,600) and CNY 10,999 (roughly Rs. 1,30,400), respectively. The price of the Vivo X Fold 5 could be in line with this.

Similar to the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, the vanilla Vivo X Fold 5 could be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The upcoming handset is expected to support 16GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to carry an 8.03-inch main foldable 2K+ AMOLED screen and a 6.53-inch LTPO OLED cover display. Both panels are tipped to support a 120Hz refresh rate.
