Realme UI 7.0 was launched on Wednesday by the Chinese smartphone maker. The new Android 16-based user interface (UI) will be pre-installed on the recently unveiled Realme GT 8 Pro. The new update introduces a Light Glass Design to Realme phones, which seems to be inspired by Apple's Liquid Glass design. The new Realme UI 7.0 will bring redesigned app icons and a control center, dubbed Ice Cube Icons and Misty Glass Control Center, respectively. Moreover, the company has also announced the Realme UI 7.0 public beta programme, allowing users to test the features and provide feedback on the same.

Realme UI 7.0 Features, Design

The China-based tech firm is introducing its new Light Glass Design with its Android 16-based Realme UI 7.0 update. The company said that the firmware upgrade will make UI elements more transparent and fluid. The app icons will feature the new Ice Cube Icons design, appearing to be square-shaped with rounded corners, which is said to give a tactile feel to the icons.

Additionally, the Realme UI 7.0 will introduce Misty Glass Control Center, redesigning the quick settings menu, which will now be displayed with a “frosted background” and “translucent finish”. It also gets a dynamic Breathing Dock, which will optimise the layout when other elements are moved. The update will also bring new widgets and lock screen customisation options.

The Realme UI 7.0 update will also bring Flux Theme 2.0 to Realme handsets, introducing themes with larger text fonts and a panoramic Always-On Display. It will now support Live Photos and video wallpapers, thanks to the AI-enabled Dynamic Depth of Field effect. Moreover, users will be able to set custom fingerprint animations, too.

The new Android 16-based update is set to introduce various AI-powered features as well. AI Notify Brief will summarise “non-urgent” notifications, which will be displayed in the morning and evening. The summaries will include the most important pieces of information, schedule updates, and to-do tasks. On top of this, Realme UI 7.0's new AI Framing Master will provide frame composition guidance while taking pictures. Other AI features, like AI Gaming Coach, will also be included.

With the Realme UI 7.0 update, the smartphones will be able to connect with iPhone and Apple Watch models. Users will be able to see calls and text messages on their Realme devices. The wearer's health data will also be synced. It also gets a Multi-task Sidebar, which will allow people to access various tools and apps without leaving the screen.

The Realme UI 7.0, which is based on Android 16, is powered by the Flux Engine, which is claimed to improve “overall responsiveness” by 15 percent, “daily performance” by 22 percent, and “app scrolling smoothness” by 29 percent.
